Lock 10, Long Buckby, Grand Union Canal.

When the chamber at Lock 10 was drained we found, unfortunately, the cill and surrounding concrete on the lower gate were in much worse condition than expected.  We need to take this opportunity to replace the cill and concrete to reduce the risk of having to do further repairs next year. 

We require an additional two weeks to carry out these works but our construction team will do everything they can to open the navigation as soon as it is safe to do so.

Please be aware, in order to help maintain water levels in the area, we will be closing the Buckby Flight from Lock 7 to Lock 13 during the period of this stoppage. 

The navigation will be de-watered between Locks 10 and 11 whilst the repairs at Lock 10 are carried out.

An urgent stoppage is required to carry out repairs to the cill and gates at Lock 10 in order to reduce leakage.
