Lock 1, Diglis, Worcester & Birmingham Canal

Due to recent flooding, levels on the River Severn are currently too high for us to start work safely on repairs at Lock 1 Diglis as planned. 

However, we are monitoring the levels very closely and we now hope to commence work on site on Monday 22nd February and re-open the navigation on Friday 26th March 2021.   

We will update this notice again should the situation change.

In order to minimise disruption to customers, we have re-programmed the stoppage at Lock 1 Diglis.  This will now take place from 15th February until 19th March, 2021.

Works to be undertaken will include the refitting of the top and bottom end lock gates, in order to reduce leakage, and the replacement of the lock ladder.
