Stourport Narrow Lock 2, Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal

The gate replacement works to Lock 2 have been aborted due to recent rainfall and increase in river levels. The lock and navigation will reopen after 4pm on 6th November 2020.

During narrow lock gate replacement works customers are advised to use the Wide Beam Locks to access Stourport Basin or the River Severn. The Wide Beam locks will only be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9am to 3pm and will be operated by staff members/ volunteers. Staff will be based in the Stourport Office located at the top of the Wide Beam Lock.

Customers can moor up and wait in the Top Basin, or use the pontoons, if coming up from the River Severn, when waiting for access through the locks.

Stourport Lock 2 will be closed for planned stoppage works. Works to be undertaken include top and bottom gate replacements, ladder and brickwork repairs.
