For anyone requiring passage through Tuel Lane Lock on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday please note we require at least 24 hours notice so we can arrange for the team to be onsite to facilitate this. Please also note our revised hours of operations during the week:
Monday; Friday; Saturday - 08:00 - 16:00
Sunday: 10:00 - 16:00
Tuesday; Wednesday & Thursday; 09:00 - 15:00

Due to low levels of skippers using the Tuel Lane Lock on Wednesdays; we are requesting that bookings are made 24 hours in advance.
This will ensure that we have volunteers at the lock for your time of passage.

Tuel Lane Lock with be taking weekend bookings from 11th July in addition to the set weekday bookings.
Booked passage will be available on Saturdays every hour from 0800 to 1600 (excluding 1200-1300) and Sundays from 1000 to 1600 (excluding 1200-1300).

Description
With the Health and Safety of our colleagues and boaters in mind and to safely manage the numbers of individuals at the site, we will initially be reopening Tuel Lane Lock from 22nd June 2020 for booked passage on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday only. Two booking slots for same direction of travel will be available every hour from 0800 to 1600 on these days (excluding 1200-1300). Please contact our team on 0303 0404040 to make your booking. Anyone requiring weekend passage, please make contact with us at least 24hrs in advance and the local team will do their best to accommodate you.
When you arrive on site, the Volunteer Lock Keeper will brief you on the safety requirements for passage. Please be aware that to ensure we maintain the social distancing principles, we will allow only the helmsman to be outside of the cabin during passage, unless you are given specific instructions by the Lock keeper when on site. Whilst you are undertaking passage it is essential that you remain 2metres distance from the Lock keeper and other boaters.
