Following the failure of the off-side gate, Watford Flight lock 3 on Friday 12/06/2020 we are now in the process of fabricating the necessary replacement parts. Arrangements have been made for a crane to be on site in the coming days to remove the damaged gate.

Our aim is to restore the flight to working order during the week beginning 29/06/2020, however this date is subject to change in response to any further complications.

Description

Due to an unexpected maintenance fault with one of the lock gates, Watford Lock Flight is currently no longer operational.

The lock gate is quite badly damaged, and our maintenance team are assessing what repair works are needed.

Due to Codi-19, we are very low on resources and so currently cannot estimate when the repairs will be carried out.

As soon as the assessments have been completed and we have a clearer idea of what needs to be done, we will be able to advise a time scale for completion of the works needed.

We apologise for any inconvenience this stoppage may cause and will endeavour to get the lock gate repaired as quickly as we can.

We appreciate everyone's patience at this time.

Please follow the government advice – stay alert, control the virus, save lives.
