The water levels have come down and the flood gates are open.

Boaters can now travel along the Trent & Mersey.

Due to the rising river level on the River Trent, the Environment Agency have taken the decision to close the Derwent Mouth flood gates on the Trent & Mersey Canal until further notice.

Whilst the EA gates are closed, boaters will be unable to travel along the Trent & Mersey Canal between the Derwent Mouth flood gates and Shardlow Lock.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Description

Due to the rising river level on the River Trent, the Environment Agency have taken the decision to close the Derwent Mouth flood gates on the Trent & Mersey Canal until further notice.
