Saltersford Lock, Weaver Navigation

We will be undertaking a restricted passage at Saltersford Lock on Friday 22nd November between 10.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m.

Any customers travelling up stream towards Northwich are advised to moor and wait below Saltersford Lock. Customers travelling downstream towards Acton Bridge are advised to moor and wait above Saltersford Lock.

After the restricted passage Saltersford lock will remain closed to finalise and complete the works required to bring the lock back to its original structural integrity.

In order to address this we will be arranging a co-ordinated passage on Friday 22nd November at 10am until 11am, this will be the only passage. To ensure and book your place please call 0303 040 4040.

Our engineers have reviewed the results of last week’s survey at Saltersford Lock on the Weaver Navigation. Further investigations are necessary to determine the extent of the voiding which may not be visible at present following the recent flooding on the Weaver Navigation. Our team will then need to make sure the lock can be safely operated before we are able to reopen navigation.

Navigation will remain closed whilst investigations are ongoing and an update will be provided by Friday 15 November 2019.

Following the recent weather conditions on the Weaver Navigation, our team have been able to get onsite today to carry out their survey of Saltersford Lock.

Our engineers will be reviewing the survey next week to determine the full degree of damage caused by the void and plan a method of repair.

An update will be provided Wednesday 6 November.

Due to a void which has been found behind the tail gates preventing the operation of Saltersford lock, the dive survey has been cancelled and navigation is closed through Saltersford Lock until our engineers can inspect the lock.

An update will be provided once our engineers have assessed what works are required. We anticipate the lock will be closed for 1 week, however an update will be provided no later than Friday 1 November.

Please be advised navigation will be closed for 4 hours, on the morning of Monday 28 October at Saltersford Lock on the Weaver Navigation to be able to carry out a dive survey.
