Updates

21/02/2020 07:11

The inspection of Yorkshire Street Aqueduct has been successfully completed. However, we are having difficulties removing the dams due to the site conditions and availability of resources resulting from the recent flooding.

As a result we need to extend this stoppage until Wednesday 26th February when we hope to be able to open the navigation.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your patience during these difficult conditions.

Following dewatering of the Aqueduct, it became clear that both the Trust and Lancashire County Council would need to carry out further inspections of the structure, which may lead to additional repairs being identified.

As a result, we will be extending the stoppage by up to two weeks, until 21st February 2020.

We apologise for any inconvenience this change of end date may cause.

Description

The navigation will be dewatered to allow a full inspection of the Aqueduct.
