Contractors, working on behalf of the Local Council, have encountered issues with repainting Bridge 99 which requires them to revise the paint specification and system.
As a result, they have requested an extension to the closure of one week to enable them to safely complete the work.
Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Contractors, working on behalf of the Local Council, will carry out essential repairs to the highway bridge, which provides a key link to the City of Lancaster.
The works include blasting of existing paint on the wrought iron beams and steel deck down to the substrate, before sealing and repainting. Scaffolding will be erected, fully encapsulating the bridge and navigation.
