We need to extend the stoppage at Picketsfield Lock 71 by a further week. We are trialling a new composite gate design at this lock and we need to make some unexpected adjustments to the gates to ensure they are a perfect fit before they can be installed.
Please note the new end date for this closure and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please note the new end date for this closure.
The damaged top gates will now be replaced with new gates, rather than repairing them, in order to effectively address leakage. The bottom gates will also be replaced, as originally planned.
As a result of the additional time required to carry out this work, the end date for this stoppage will be extended until 13th December.
