Following the postponement in November of the stoppage at Shireoaks Stone Lock 39 due to flooding, the work has now been re-programmed to start on 10th February 2020.

Works will include the replacement of both top and bottom gates, repairs to cills, alterations to lock ladders and re-pointing of the lock chamber walls.

The access road leading to Shireoaks Stone Lock 39 is flooded and impassable. As a result, we have been unable to bring plant and equipment to site to start work on the replacement of the gates and other repairs. Even if the flooding situation improves in the next week, we will not be able to complete all the works before Christmas. We are trying to re-programme this work for the new year and will issue a new stoppage notice as soon as dates can be confirmed.
