The works at Lock 9, Rushall, include brickwork repairs, gate replacements, improvements to ladders, quoin and quadrant repairs.
The extent of the masonry repairs required in the chamber is greater than originally anticipated. Polyurethane grouting will be undertaken by our contractors and this can only be carried out once the lock chamber has been re-watered following the gate replacements.
We therefore need to extend the duration of the stoppage by one week and the navigation will be closed until 20th December 2019.
