Description

The exceptionally dry conditions from May onwards has led to ongoing drawdown of Killington Reservoir, which supplies the Lancaster Canal. We have completed a lot of work to clear the feeder of vegetation and make sure that there is a good feed to the canal, but we now we need to be mindful of losses to make sure that we maximise the remaining water resource. In view of this, we have taken the decision to suspend passages on the Ribble Link for the time being.

We will be contacting customers directly affected regarding existing bookings. We know that some people will be inconvenienced and apologise for this. If you have a Ribble Link booking and need some advice urgently, please contact us on 03030 404040.

We are closely monitoring levels in the reservoir and the weather forecast and we will review the position each week, please watch out for our regular updates. You can find more information on this link.
