We're hoping works will be complete and the towpath back open again by Monday 9th September. The scaffolding will be taken down on Tuesday 10th September. While the scaffolding is being dismantled, the navigation needs to be closed for up to 4 hours. The navigation restriction notice can be found here:

The local construction team are currently onsite, undertaking the repair and restoration of the damaged parapet. This will see approximately 1/3 of the elevation rebuilt to remedy the damage done by the vehicle impact.
While these works are underway, the scaffolding needs to stay in place and the towpath remains closed. We hope to have the works completed in the next four weeks. In the meantime, please follow the diversion route that is in place.

Our Contractors have demolished the damaged sections of the bridge, and made the section safe for navigation. The towpath & road remains closed until further notice.
We're hoping to have Scaffolding installed by the end of the week. While the scaffolding is being installed, the navigation will need to be closed for up to 4 hours. As soon as we receive a timeframe from our contractors, we'll update this notice. Please be advised there will be a 2 metre clearance under the scaffolding.
We kindly ask boaters to please take care if passing this section as there may still be some bricks in the canal, which will be dredged at a later date.
