Navigation Closure: Lock 24W to Lock 32W, Huddersfield Narrow Canal

We are pleased to advise scaffolding has now been removed at Lock 30 West on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and navigation has resumed, subject to the ongoing restrictions which can be found here: https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/notices/22023-huddersfield-narrow-canal-restrictions-lock-32e-to-lock-42e-and-lock-24w-to-lock-32w-and-standedge-tunnel

Our local team have now repaired the detached cill at Lock 30 West on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and are waiting for the scaffolders to remove their equipment. We anticipate navigation will resume with the ongoing restrictions tomorrow and an update will be provided later today.

Please be advised navigation remains closed at Lock 30 West on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal due to a detached cill.

Works are due to commence on Monday once the site has been set up. We anticipate works will take around two days, subject to any further issues arising.

To ensure the safety of our customers, padlocks have been placed on Lock 24 West and Lock 32 West to prevent access on to the Flight.

An update on progress will be provided on Wednesday 25 May.
