It’s the second year Giving Tuesday, the global day of giving, has been officially recognised in the UK.
After the sales of Black Friday and the online shopping boom of Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is an opportunity for us all to come together to show the world why it’s good to give.
If you’ve donated your time or money or supported us another way, we want to say a huge thank you. That’s why we’ll be getting involved with Giving Tuesday on 1 December to show our appreciation to all of our amazing supporters!
Giving Tuesday also gives us the opportunity to showcase some of the work we do and what your support has helped us achieve. Many people don’t realise that our waterways rely on the efforts of thousands of volunteers and generous donations.
There are so many ways in which people can and have supported us such as counting the wildlife spotted on our canals and rivers in Great Nature Watch, volunteering with the towpath taskforce to help clean up the towpaths, or helping to protect the homes of some of our most beloved species by donating to Waterside Watch.
So look out for the hashtag #GivingTuesday on Twitter and follow @CanalRiverTrust on 1 December, as for one day only, we’ll have a very special guest taking over - come and get involved!
Our guest bloggers all have a passion for our waterways, whether they are volunteers, staff or the experts we work with.
