Updates

This notice has been superseded by the following restriction notice Atherstone Lock 1 & 5, Coventry Canal | Canal & River Trust (canalrivertrust.org.uk)

Thank you for continuing to navigate considerately whilst our network is operating on reduced water levels.

11/07/2022 13:01

The levels have risen slightly as we expected and we are continuing to monitor.

07/07/2022 15:35

The reason for the low water levels is because the Griff Brook, where we pump water from, has run dry.

We are opening the water valve at Hawkesbury Junction to allow water from the Oxford Canal onto the Coventry Canal. We are also planning to divert water from the River Swift onto the Oxford Canal to help with the supply.

We will know by the weekend what impact this has had.

Please look out for further updates.
