Description
Localised spot dredging is planned to be carried out at Wychnor Lock during the week commencing 11/01/2016.
Dredging is required here due to the risk of the sluices becoming obstructed and potentially, consequent flooding.
The work will be carried out by Land and Water Services who will mobilise floating plant via Barton Turns Marina.
The dredged silt and vegetation is to be used to top up the bank protection backfill on the off-side, between Wychnor Lock and Bridge 40, ie. immediately downstream.
The plan is to, mobilise on Monday 11th, dredge Tuesday – Thursday, then demobilise on Friday 15th.
