Barmouth Way Bridge

Please be advised that Third Party contractors will be onsite between Bridge C, Lightbody Street and Stanley Dock Top Lock on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to excavate an area of land on the western side of the Liverpool Canal.

Samples will be taken from excavation to ascertain levels of carbon to ensure safe insertion of pressure point, as it will be undertaken through a live insertion.

The towpath will remain open with the exception of one day on the 28th July to undertake the live insertion of the apparatus. This will be confirmed at a later date.

Stockpiling of the excavated material will be at the back of the towpath, within a fenced off area.

The Site will be secured for the full duration with standard herras fencing and a diversion route in place when required.

All works to be undertaken manually, no plant or vehicle access is authorised.

This may affect towpath users and possibly users of the Stanley Lock Flight (moorings).  The actual works will be undertaken on the raised verge.

Whilst the towpath and navigation will remain open, we politely request all customers to approach the area with caution and to listen to any advice that may be given by the onsite banksmen.
