We are pleased to advise that the repair works at Heathy Lock have been successful and are now complete ahead of schedule. Thanks to everyone for their patience whilst the lock has been closed.

We are pleased to confirm that works to repair the broken gate at Heathy Close Lock will be carried out between 6th and 9th July. The Canal will remain closed for the duration of works, but return to unrestricted operation upon completion.

We are pleased to advise that repairs to the broken gate at Heathy Close, are being planned by our Direct Services team for delivery in early July.

We expect this to be their first repair when returning to work and it should only take a day to complete.

We will update this notice again once the Lock is open and are grateful for customers’ patience in the meantime.

We are sorry to advise that despite best efforts, it has not been possible to implement the temporary repair we had planned, due to national guidance regarding Covid – 19 and the need for social distancing.

Works will continue as soon as possible after the lockdown is over and in the meantime, we apologise for the delay in providing this update.

Description

We are sorry to advise that we have had to lose the Canal at Lock 52 until further notice, due to a broken
bottom end gate.

Engineers are currently attending the site to examine the damage and will arrange repairs as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we apologise for any inconvenience caused and will post an update to this notice on Monday 23rd March.
