We have been informed by the lifting contractor that the trial operation will be delayed until 28th January. The operation will commence at 09:00hrs and finish at 21:30hrs. All skippers should note the Lock will be unavailable for passage during this period.

Description

Contractors working on the Keadby 2 Power Station project will undertaking a series heavy lifts from coasters moored on Railway Wharf close to Keadby Lock.

The harbour authority - Associated British Ports and the lifting contractor A.L.E. will be undertaking a trial operation on Monday 27th January through to Tuesday 28th January. Lock passage will not be possible for the duration of the trial. The Trial will last from 19:00 on Monday evening to 8am Tuesday morning.

Following the trial there will be a series of other lifting operations. The lifting operations will restrict access through Keadby Lock, a series of lock restrictions will be in place from February 2020 to September 2020 each restriction can be expected to last 12 hours. There are likely to be about 20 lock restrictions throughout this period.

Skippers of all craft are asked to avoid planning lock passage during the restriction periods. Temporary moorings will be available in the River Trent at Derrythorpe approximately 3Km upstream of Keadby Lock on the west river bank. Derrythorpe jetty will be available for any vessel wanting to wait until the lift has been completed and the restriction lifted, there is no access from Derrythorpe Jetty to the river bank. Any vessel wanting to use the temporary river waiting point should inform the Keadby Lock keepers when booking lock passage.

Details of timings of the lifting operation and restriction periods will be provided shortly on a separate notice.

Canal & River Trust are working closely with the lifting contractor, shipping agents and harbour authority to keep lock restrictions to an absolute minimum.
