Froudes Culvert

We are sorry to advise that due to the weather conditions and flooding we are delayed on site until 25 October.

Due to issues with design and groundwater levels at Froudes, we’re going to be on site longer than expected.

We’re planning to open the towpath on 15 October but will open it earlier if we can.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.

Please take notice of a towpath closure and navigation restriction.

We are constructing a new culvert under the navigation to replace one that is failing. Unfortunately as our works are adjacent and under the towpath it is not possible to keep the towpath open during this time.

An alternative route is available and will be signposted on the site fencing.

Additionally our working method requires the use of a pontoon in the navigation, We are trying to reduce disruption to boaters as much as possible, however we may still need to hold up boat traffic for an hour occasionally during the works so that we can move the equipment around.
