Description
Craven towpath improvement project will commence on Monday 22 July 2019 which involves 11.7km of towpath improvements: 8.2km between Anchor Bridge (Gargrave) to Gawflat Swing Bridge (Skipton) and a further 3.5km between Bradley Swing Bridge (Bradley) and Warehouse Swing Bridge (Kildwick).
The principal features of the works are to resurface 11.7 km of towpath with a 1.5m wide Centrack surface and carry out washwall repairs where necessary.
Contractors Keir are due to mobilise on 22 July 2019 for 24 weeks.
The towpath will be closed where work is taking place to ensure safety of the public.
Every effort will be made to keep closed sections of the path to a minimum and where no work is taking place the paths will be kept open where possible.
Prior to commencement of works, separate notices will be issued advising of closures of individual sections of towpath.
