Towpath Closure: Bridge 108 to Milford Turnover Bridge, Staffordshire & Worcester Canal

Unfortunately we have had to extend the closure date to Friday 15th September. This is due to additional bank works being required.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Please be advised the section from Great Haywood Junction to Bridge 108 has now re-opened. We therefore encourage boaters to moor on the stretch nearer Bridge 108, which should be better with an improved path.

The rest of the works are still due to finish on 24th August. We will post a further update closer to the time.

Unfortunately we have had to extend the closure date for this towpath closure, making the end date Thursday 24th August.

The reason for this is due to some major bank repair works involving the concrete copings and wash walls that are being carried out. There was also further delays when additional works had to be carried out in a specific section in raising the towpath level, due to overtopping from the canal.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We have now received a confirmed end date for this towpath closure. The closure will start Monday 8th May, and is due to finish Friday 14th July.

Thank you for your patience as these improvements works are carried out, which will see the construction and refurbishment of a new towpath surfacing from Milford Turnover Bridge to Haywood Bridge.

The towpath closure will now start on Monday 8th May. 

Please look out for a more detailed update within 2 weeks.

Works will now be commencing in late March / early April.

We will update the notice as soon as we have a confirmed date.

Works will be carried out to repair and resurface the towpath for the benefits of users. 

This will mean that any visitor moorings located between Milford Turnover Bridge to Haywood Bridge on the Staffordshire & Worcester Canal will also be closed during the works.

Works are due to start late January but the exact date is to be confirmed. More details will be provided as soon as they become available.
