The request to close the canal and towpath is no longer required by Staffordshire Police.

Please bear with us during this short but necessary stoppage, in compliance with a request from Staffordshire Police.

Whilst the visitor moorings at Middleport Park are closed for the duration, suitable alternative moorings are available just to the north at Westport Lake and south at Festival Park.

Navigation will be restored by 6pm on Thursday 22nd July at the latest; we'll let you know straight away should the canal be open any sooner. Thank you for your patience.
