Rochdale canal - Lock 92-84

Following a fatality earlier in the week we are working with Manchester water safety partnership to restrict access to the towpath in the manchester city centre at night.  There is a specific concern this weekend because of the “Park Life” festival.  We are expecting that access to the towpath will be blocked from 10pm at night, and reopened again first thing in the morning. There will be no impact to the navigation. We would advise people to moor either at Castlefield Basin or on the Bridgewater canal, or above Lock 84 in Piccadilly.  We’ll be reviewing the position after the weekend with partnership
