Town Swing Bridge

We need to carry out emergency repairs to the bridge rollers following a recent failure. As part of these works the teams will be replacing the broken rollers on Monday 12 February with the works being completed on Friday 16 February 2018. We will also be taking the opportunity to overhaul the roller pins and carry out essential greasing. The bridge will not be operational during these works, therefore an air draught restriction of 7ft 6" will be in place.

Sustaining a working 200 year-old canal system occasionally requires unplanned maintenance work. Please bear with us, we’ll try and keep disruption to a minimum.
