Bridge 71, Porters Footbridge, near Congleton, Macclesfield Canal

Works to undertake repairs to the East and West abutments of Bridge 71.

It was originally expected these works could be completed without the need for a closure.  However, it is now necessary to install portadams, and to de-water the section of canal under the bridge, in order for the works to be carried out safely.

The closure is timed to tie-in with others in the area and the navigational window on 3rd and 4th February will still take place.
