Tardebigge Flight

Works are to be carried out on the Tardebigge Flight to repair the rotating waterway wall at Pound 51. Asset WB-025-10.  E398,364 N268,421.  The works will start on  22nd  January - 16th March, and last 8 weeks in which time there will be a stoppage. Water will remain in the pound whilst works are undertaken with  draw down for just one or two specialist operations lasting a day.

 The towpath will be closed for the duration, however a diversion will be signposted from bridge 55 along the crest of the reservoir and down the steps opposite bridge 54 for pedestrians.  An alternative route will be suggested  for cyclists , push chairs, wheel chairs and mobility scooters from bridge 54 and 55  and further afield so no one has a wasted journey. Bridge 54 will remain open however there will be the occasional managed closure to allow plant and materials to be manoeuvred. The PROW officer has been informed. The Fishermen’s car park at the end of Grimley lane will accommodate a welfare unit and storage for plant and materials. However,  will be kept to an absolute minimum allowing spaces for fisherman. Only one work van will be allowed on site, contractors will find alternative parking nearby.
