Approx. 200m south of Limekiln Lock 43, Abbey Park, Leicester

Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering on behalf of Leicester City Council will be installing a new footbridge to link the new Community Sports Arena and Abbey Park. To facilitate the works a crane will be used to lift the bridge into place.

Due to health and safety reasons the canal and towpath will need to be closed for a short period of time (approx. an hour) during the lift.  

Signage and banksman will be utilised to manage members of the public and canal traffic, care should be taken whilst passing through this section.
