Lock 20 Botterham Bottom Lock

Unfortunately due to further works required to repair the cill, the stoppage needs to be extended for another day.

We have now been advised that the repairs will be undertaken on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th June.

Therefore, the canal will be fully closed for these two days from 18.00 on Sunday 25th June.

Due to a suspected blown cill in the bottom lock, there are significant water losses which could pose potential hazards when operating the staircase locks. Therefore, whilst repairs are planned, assisted passage through the lock will be provided between 08.00 and 18.00.

The lock will be closed outside of these hours.

Repairs are anticipated within the week but further updates will be provided.
