In addition: please be advised that an extremely large, fallen tree is currently blocking the navigation approximately 100m below bridge 33 on the Worcester and Birmingham canal. Contractors are aware and are currently on site. They will continue to work to remove the obstruction as quickly as possible. However due to the size of the tree and the remoteness of its location it may take some time to fully restore access. At present the towpath remains open – however, once the heavy machinery is on site (currently anticipated Monday 27th February) pedestrians may be asked to wait until they can be safely escorted past. It is expected to be clear and for the navigation to be fully reopened by Tuesday 28th February. We will continue to update the website as more information becomes available.
