Young Rangers at Anderton Boat Lift
Young Rangers help us fulfil a vital part of our work. They take responsibility for a small area of our waterway network and work with existing staff and volunteers to design, construct, and monitor conservation interventions.

We are excited to offer the very first Young Rangers intake exclusively to home educator groups. Pupils must be aged 14-18. Activities will take place at the magnificent Anderton Boat Lift and will include:
- Creating habitats
- Planting
- Design and construction of bird/insect homes/feeders
- Biodiversity measurement
- Soil sampling
- Vegetation management
- Towpath improvement
The programme will consist of six sessions throughout June, July and August. Sessions are completely free of charge.
Young people must attend with a parent/guardian/responsible adult.
