Unfortunately due to Covid19 we are not currently leading face to face visits and workshops.

We will be launching virtual workshops in October and we are taking bookings for school and group visits from January 2021 onwards; these bookings will be dependent on future national and local lockdowns. To make a booking for 2021 or to register your interest in virtual workshops please complete our enquiry form.

In the meantime, we have lots of activities on our website. Take a look at the Learning from Home bundles with themed activities for schools, groups and home schoolers, the Canal & River Challenge Badge for uniformed groups, Let’s Go Outdoors for ideas to visit your local canal or river and Make and Play for crafts and games.

The Canal & River Trust is the charity who look after and bring to life 2,000 miles of waterways, because we believe that life is better by water. 'Explorers' is the Trust's education programme aimed at children aged 5-11. We inspire children's learning by connecting them to our canals and rivers.

Our Education Volunteers lead inspiring visits to key waterside destinations across the UK as well as in-school visits, all of which are FREE. We also offer learning at our museums and attractions. 24 of our sites have been awarded the Quality Badge for Learning Outside the Classroom. All activities are linked to the national curriculum and are highly regarded by teachers. We also work with home educator groups, please contact us for more details.

"Sparrows learned so much in such a short space of time about the rivers and canals in their town - 200 years of history in 60 minutes!! Thanks, again, for bringing our topic to life."
