During 9th - 18th March, British Science Week, we delivered free STEM activities for schools including our floating and sinking session across various sites at the National Waterways Museum Ellesmere Port. We worked with the University of Liverpool’s outreach programme and are now working with Essar on our 4th STEM festival, which will take place at the museum in October.
Thanks to funding from TATA we were able to offer trips on the Anderton Boat Lift in Cheshire to 250 local school children during Science Week. In addition to the boat trip we delivered a choice of three STEM workshops: floating & sinking, hydraulics and canal cranes. The hydraulics workshop proved to be a real hit with the school children who impressed the boat masters with their knowledge of the lift! Find out more about our STEM programme here.
