NEW! Wellbeing Resources

We want to play our part in helping children look after their health and wellbeing. Our canals and rivers are the perfect place to inspire positive emotional health, because we believe life is better by water.

Through immersive and engaging activities, A Week of Wellbeing helps children understand the importance of wellbeing and equips them with tools for managing their own emotional health.

Pupils returning to school do so against one of the most challenging backdrops since World War 2. For many this will present a number of challenges – particularly around mental health and wellbeing.

At the Canal & River Trust, thousands of people use our waterways and towpaths every day to help manage their mental health. We are now bringing this expertise into the classroom to provide a comprehensive range of FREE wellbeing work units. These not only save on planning time, but can be flexibly delivered to fit around existing teaching requirements. Through our Explorers’ ‘A Week of Wellbeing’ resources, we are able to help children at KS1 and KS2 look after their health and wellbeing.

Within each Key Stage our ‘A Week of Wellbeing’ resources include:
• A detailed Unit of Work which provides step-by-step delivery instructions for each activity. This includes cross-curricular opportunities, learning objectives, curriculum links and expected outcomes
• Downloadable pupil Worksheets and Templates
• Presentation Slides to support the topic delivery

All the resources have been flexibly designed to be delivered over a week, individually, or across a term. Whichever you choose, you can be assured that they have been produced by our education specialists. This means that they will be aligned with the curriculum, educational, and fun to complete.
