Explorers at Countryside Live

Five new education volunteers have been busy inspiring children about waterway habitats, at a recent Countryside Live event.

The volunteers, recruited through the Carpenters Road Lock restoration project in the Olympic Park, ventured to Tottenham Marshes next to the River Lee to take part in Countryside Live, an event for schools organised by Countryside Learning. Over two sunny days in September, they introduced around 550 children to the wide biodiversity of the river. Children found lots of creatures including water boatmen, shrimps, beetle larvae and even a water scorpion!
