Hawthorn Hideaway
As seen on Channel 4's, Four In A Bed, our luxurious romantic retreat. Our main market is couples with something to celebrate or those needing a beautiful tranquil spot by the canal to unwind.
Hawthorn Hideaway has a unique and luxurious Narrowboat, Kingfisher is available for static hire, self drive or a combination of the two as well as Skippered hire. A boating holiday with a difference, made for 2 for a romantic getaway on the water. You even get your own hot tub.
Kingfisher has a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, log burner with logs , free WiFi, smart TV, full sized shower ensuite with bathrobes, towels and toiletries and a king size bed with luxury linen.
Enjoy your own private garden area with hot tub, picnic table, fire bowl BBQ and Tipi hanging day bed. Also on site in the adjacent 2 acre woodland are 2 luxury lodges and an indoor hobbit BBQ cabin, wood burning sauna and a romantic steam cabin for 2. All included in the price of your stay and prepared ready for your use. Why not book a BBQ or steak hamper with the BBQ cabin? Our ultimate treat is the fine dining experience. Basically your own chef for the evening. Choose from a set menu or mix and match dishes from all the all the menus on offer. You can even request your own favourite dish. Dinners will all be served in our gorgeous yurt.
We also offer massage treatments, BBQ packs, afternoon teas, historical and foraging walks and so much more. In 2024 we've even started offering small weddings, with 2 to 17 guests. These are celebrant led and we have a variety of options. Please contact us for a quote.
Minimum 2 night stays (3 for bank holiday weekends). Check in days Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. No children or pets. Boat sleeps 2 comfortably.
Our boat is usually pointing towards Drakeholes, a 2.5 hr cruise, only 2 locks and you also get to experience the tunnel, not too large or difficult it's a trip suitable for novices. Our instructors will take you upto the first lock and make sure you are safe and competent to take charge of the boat.

There is a rough stone path in the car park and walk way through the woodland to the boat garden area and mooring. There is a step up onto the decking and then your boat and steps down into the boat. There are 2 small steps to get into the hot tub which is raised. Also steps take you up to the raised seating area to view the sunsets. The walk ways and doorways on the boat are narrow. The bed is approximately 2 foot high.
