Hawthorn Hideaway has a unique and luxurious Narrowboat, Kingfisher available for static hire, self drive hire or a combination of the two and Skippered hire. A boating holiday with a difference, made for 2 for a romantic getaway on the water.
Kingfisher has a fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, log burner with logs , free WiFi, smart TV, full sized shower ensuite with bathrobes, towels and toiletries and a king size bed with luxury linen.
Enjoy your own private garden area with hot tub, picnic table, fire bowl BBQ and Tiipii hanging day bed. Also on site in the adjacent 2 acre woodland are 2 luxury lodges and an indoor hobbit BBQ cabin and wood burning sauna, both included in the price of your stay and lit ready for your use. Why not book a BBQ or steak hamper with the BBQ cabin? Massage treatments can be booked in the yurt. Celebration packs of flowers, balloons and locally handmade chocolates can be purchased for special occasions and completed with an afternoon tea delivered to your lodge.
Minimum 2 night stays (3 for bank holiday weekends). Check in days Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. No children or pets.
2.5 hours in one way takes you to Drakeholes and the The Duck, Restaurant and bar with mooring and 2.5 hours the other way to West Stockwith Marina, again with pub and restaurants. Each way has only 2 locks. So why not spend some time on the water but also enjoying what we have to offer on site.

There is a rough stone path in the car park and walk way through the woodland to the boat garden area and mooring. There is a step up onto the decking and then your boat and steps down into the boat. There are 2 small steps to get into the hot tub which is raised. Also steps take you up to the raised seating area to view the sunsets. The walk ways and doorways on the boat are narrow. The bed is approximately 2 foot high.
