PSHE KS3 water safety lesson pack

A free KS3 lesson on water safety, peer pressure & lifesaving skills.

Three teenage boys chatting to each other on a bridge

Through our research with Claremont, we spoke with young teens about how they want to receive water safety information.  They told us not to preach at them – make it a discussion which includes them – and focus on friendships.  So that’s what we’re doing.

Developed with The PSHE Association, our ‘Have you got their back? KS3 water safety lesson pack explores risk assessment and the influence of peer relationships on water safety.

The lesson includes learning about possible hazards, how young people might be encouraged to take risks around water, and how they can resist pressure to go beyond their comfort zone. Students will also learn essential lifesaving responses to emergencies near water.

Download the free lesson pack today to access the lesson plan, slides, student resources and accompanying teacher guidance.
