What's involved?

Come and join our Towpath Taskforce at Pontypool on Thursday from 12pm- 3pm. This is part of the Community Roots initiative to engage local people in the Torfaen area in caring for your local canal. As a Towpath Taskforce Volunteer you will help to support your local canal by cutting back overgrown vegetation, clearing paths, collecting litter and generally tidying up. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support. We will be delighted to see you there. You're welcome to join us and have a coffee and a catch up when you are done!

What's in it for you?

It's a great way to meet other local volunteers and the CRT Volunteer team, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment

What skills are we looking for?

There are no skills required for this task and all safety procedures and work instructions will be given on the day; you just need to be willing to get stuck in! We advise that you wear old clothes and protective footwear if you have some.
