Ponders End Lock, River Lee, London
Join us on Wednesday 24 January between 10am and 3.30pm at Ponders End Lock, for an enjoyable day’s work on the beautiful River Lee. We’ll be tackling overgrown vegetation and filling potholes to make the towpath a more welcoming place for visitors. All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support and refreshments. We will be delighted to see you there. You're welcome to join us for the morning or bring a packed lunch and stay all day!
Meet us on the towpath by Ponders End Lock, nearest access is from Wharf Road, the approximate postcode is EN3 4XX. Nearest public transport Ponders End Station which is a 5 minute walk away.
The Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
No experience is required, you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket, warm layers) and sturdy footwear ideally boots or wellies.
