Activities: Practical

Starts: 30th April 2014 to 25th March 2015

Dudley No 2 Canal

We are setting up regular rubbish sweeps from work boats to keep the canals of the Black Country clean and tidy for everyone to enjoy. We need an enthusiastic team of volunteers to help us with it.

Based at our Dunns Bridge Yard off St Peter's road, Wind Mill End, Dudley, the volunteer crew will sweep the canals removing any floating Debris on the waterway.

It will operate on a Thursday at 9.30am. If you think you could be part of this dedicated team and can spare a couple days a month to enhance our canals then why not come along and join in

This is a great way to meet other local volunteers and become part of a team, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors on a boat improving your local waterway environment.

Skills required

There are no skills required for this task and all safety procedures, training and work instructions will be given. You just need to be willing to get stuck in. The boat will be helmed by Canal & River Trust Staff so no boating experience required.
