Activities: Management and supervision
Engaging more closely with communities is critical to the success of the Canal & River Trust. A key tenet of this engagement is volunteering. The newly formed Volunteering Advisory Group will bring together experts from the volunteering and waterways sectors to help guide and shape the Trust's strategic approach and establish best practice. We are inviting people who have experience in establishing volunteering programmes on a large strategic scale, combined with a firm waterway passion, to join us.
You will be required to be able to attend two meetings a year and will be provided with all out of pocket expenses. You will be at the forefront of the new charity - helping to shape our programmes and direction by offering your experience and skills. This group will be small in number but membership will be drawn from the waterway and non waterway sectors so you will get the opportunity to meet and share experiences with other senior executives from the third sector.
Ideal experience - establishing or running corporate employee volunteering/CSR programmes,
establishing large youth enagement programmes, professional volunteering, establishing internships etc.
This is an advisory role. Volunteer members have no governance responsibility.
