Help the Trust keep our boating customers informed about day to day operations that affect them and their boating. And who better to help us than current or ex-boaters themselves? So we are looking for volunteers with boating experience to become a crucial part of our operations team using their understanding of what boaters need to know and their networks to help us get across information about how the waterway is running day to day and in times of emergency

You will become an essential part of the Trust volunteer team who deliver great customer service to our boating community.
You will be responsible for ensuring that everything we do is communicated in a timely, accurate and effective manner to our boaters to ensure their experience of waterways is the best it can be.
You will have an opportunity to establish new communication systems and processes, advising our paid team on the best way to reach our customers.
What skills are we looking for?
Ideally you wil be well connected to the boating community and the formal and informal communication channels which exist. Have good knowledge of local geography and waterway features and enjoy keeping people updated and informed.Good written communication and administration skills are essential. Confidence in the use of or willing to learn digital media including Facebook and Twitter desirable. Car owner essential as there will be travel to different locations. You’ll need some flexibility planning your volunteering as work dictates and being prepared to work on your own or alongside our paid team.
We will carry out a brief interview to help ensure that you know what's involved and we'll take references.
