Join us on Saturday 30th October at Hayes between 10am and 3.30pm for a satisfying days work on the beautiful Grand Union Canal. We'll be tackling this litter hot spot, clearing vegetation to give the area a real lift in preparation for the Hayes Winter Canal Festival on 6th November.
All tools and equipment will be provided, together with expert and friendly support.
Meet us at 10am The Old Crown Pub, UB3 4BG. The closest station is Hayes & Harlington. The event will run from 10am-3.30pm, join us for the morning or bring a packed lunch and stay all day!
What's in it for you?
The Towpath Taskforce offers a great way to meet other local Trust volunteers and staff, learn new practical skills, hear about other volunteer opportunities or just spend a few hours outdoors improving your local waterway environment.
What skills are we looking for?
No experience is needed, you just need to be willing to get stuck in and get dirty. Please wear old clothes appropriate for the weather conditions (e.g. waterproof jacket, warm layers) and sturdy soled footwear ideally work boots, walking boots or wellies.
