Boat trips (30 minutes)
Families can enjoy a trip deep into the 3.25 mile tunnel. One of our entertaining guides will thrill you with tales of the folk who designed, built and worked in the tunnel. Pre-booking is required for groups of over 10 people for boat trips, lunch orders and buffets. Special prices are also available. The short boat trip can take up to two wheelchairs on each trip and is accessible via a wheelchair lift if required.
30 minute boat trips run:
Monday to Friday 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm
Saturday & Sunday 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm & 4pm
Adults (£4.50); Seniors (60+) & Students (£4); Child 5-15yrs (£3.50); 4 & under (Free);

Through trips (2 hours)
Take a trip all the way through Standedge Tunnel and remember to wrap up warm! The trips run every other Saturday starting 12th April 2014.

A range of freshly made sandwiches, soup and jacket potatoes, as well as a fine selection of tasty cakes are available in our newly refurbished Watersedge cafe. We have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and picnic areas to enjoy your food. There is ramped access into Watersedge. On Bank holidays the usual Watersedge menu will be replaced with the 'Bank Holiday Picnic' - picnic-style food including sandwiches, salad boxes, fresh fruit and more!

Standedge Exhibition Centre
Monday – Friday: 11am- 4pm
Saturday & Sunday: 10.30am – 5pm
The ground floor of the warehouse building houses the Standedge Exhibition Centre. There is a film telling the story of the building of the tunnel and its restoration. The ground floor also houses some of the national collection on display. These items are relevant to the building of the tunnel, its operation in the 1800s and also to its restoration from the 1970s onwards.
The first floor of the warehouse can be hired for Wedding receptions or private parties. Please email email@example.com for a quote.
The second floor houses the Loft Space Creative Hub, a group of local designers and makers who use the space as a workshop but also have a small craft shop and open to the public Wednesdays - Sundays. More information can be found here
All floors of the Visitor Centre can be accessed by lift.

Our children’s soft play area on the groud floor of our exhibition centre is free to use so bring the kids down whatever the weather and enjoy!
