Work for us
Around 1,500 dedicated people work for the Trust in massively varied roles from engineering and ecology to heritage management and property development. We need skilled, committed and professional employees to help us care for 2,000 miles of wonderful inland waterways.
The Canal & River Trust is one of the newest charities and if you work for us you'll be sure that you are helping to provide a local haven for people and nature in an increasingly fast-paced and crowded world.
New Chief Executive
Odgers Berndtson has been selected as the executive search firm to work with the Canal & River Trust to appoint its next chief executive.
The role will be advertised nationally by mid-February. A full job description and person specification will also be available.
In the meantime if you would like to speak to Odgers Berndtson contact Alex Hamilton-Baily on 020 7529 1086 or email canalrivertrust@odgersberndtson.com
In June 2012, Third Sector magazine said: "Most charities don’t have the profile of the Canal & River Trust: a cast iron guarantee of £800m funding from government, as well as the third largest portfolio of historic buildings in the British Isles, and a collection of natural assets guaranteed to bring in visitors by, well, the boatload."
If you would like to work with a motivated team of professional people please look at our current job vacancies.
Could you make a difference?
We also have a number of opportunities for volunteers to get involved in all aspects of our work; from volunteer lock keeping to assisting our environment team, outside in the fresh air or office-based. If you'd like to gain new skills and meet new people then take a look at our volunteering pages.
