The charity making life better by water

Woman cycling by the canal

Cycling

Through our work, we're helping more people enjoy the benefits of cycling alongside some of the country's most stunning waterside scenery.

Cycling by water can make us healthier and happier. That's why we work hard to make sure our towpaths are open and accessible, whenever you need them.

We have thousands of miles of fairly level, traffic-free towpaths that you can enjoy, whatever your age or cycling ability. Providing green corridors through our cities and linking our towns and villages together, you can use our towpaths to enjoy an afternoon out with your family, a traffic-free route to work or even a week-long tour of the country.

We welcome all considerate cyclists to our towpaths and you don't need a permit. However, make sure you check out our Towpath Code before you take to the towpaths.
