Canals are great for beginners and experts alike and you’ll find plenty of canoe clubs on our network who can get you started or build on your existing skills.
We will soon be offering a search facility which will enable you to find your nearest canoe club.
Do you need a licence?
Membership of Canoe England and Canoe Wales gives you the right to paddle on the Canal & River Trust's waterways.
Alternatively you can buy a short term visitor licence from local waterway offices or online from our boat liceinsing pages.
Canoeing in Wales
Glandŵr Cymru – the Canal & River Trust in Wales - has teamed up with Canoe Wales who have developed our Burgedin Lock Cottages on the banks of the Montgomery Canal to offer people all they need to get on the water whether they are looking for a quick splash, a full day of adventure, a coached session or something bespoke.
