Once busy with barges laden with limestone for the nearby lime kilns, Welford Wharf, at the end of the Welford arm of the Leicester Line of the Grand Union Canal, is now a picture of rural tranquility. It’s a great place for country walks and spotting wildlife. Especially if you take a stroll up to the nearby Welford and Sulby Reservoirs.
